Agent Thomas Daniels is a CIA operative in the game Spec Ops: The Line. Daniels was part the CIA team Grey Fox, which went into Dubai to look for survivors. Sometime during the operation he was captured by the 33rd Infantry. While traveling through Dubai, Walker can hear the Radioman broadcasting the torture of Daniels in an attempt to provoke the other members of Grey Fox to rescue him. When Daniels is found by Walker and his Delta Force team inside an abandoned hotel, it is revealed that he was killed a long time ago and hung upside down with a speaker broadcasting his torture in his mouth, which was a trap intended for Agent Gould.
Despite being an agent, his interrogator refers to Daniels as a "Lieutenant", suggesting he was once in the US Forces.
