The FAMAS is an assault rifle that appears in Spec Ops: The Line.

In the single-player campaign, it comes with the ability to toggle between automatic and burst fire. It also has a scope, which is ideal for picking off targets at a longer range. It is somewhat weaker than the M4A1, but far more accurate. The FAMAS is very rarely seen in the campaign, only obtainable in a few chapters, and is never used by any enemies; it is only ever found lying on the floor. Therefore, ammunition for the FAMAS can only usually be obtained from ammo boxes and executions.

In multiplayer, the FAMAS is unlocked at Level 37, and retains its scope from the campaign but only fires in fully automatic mode. It has a high rate of fire, and is the only assault rifle in multiplayer to have a scope, making it useful for long-range fire engagements. However, it does not have any crosshairs, making close quarters engagements difficult.

  • The FAMAS is the only weapon to pass its ability in the campaign over to the multiplayer.
  • It is normal to find FAMAS's in Dubai since the United Arab Emirates received a number of FAMAS F1's from France in the 1990's.
